The decision to let someone into your home to take care of a child is no child's play.

So, when a family finds someone they can trust and let into their home, it is only fair that they open up their homes and make the nanny comfortable too. After all, they will be spending their entire day with someone else's child in someone else's home.

But one nanny recently took to TikTok to share how she was hired by a family, full time, to take care of their child, but they instructed her to get food from her place and not eat anything from their home.

Yes, that's right. They wanted someone to take care of their child, but not eat anything from their place, even though the nanny was hired to work all day long.

@braonain1 Yeah don’t ask about my food choices.. first time having a family tell me I can’t eat there food but it’s all good 🤣 #nanny #funny #nannyfamily ♬ Material Girl (Bass Boosted) - Saucy Santana

Brenna, a professional nanny recently went viral for a video of hers regarding her work conditions. In the video, she was unpacking her lunch and snacks for the day she was babysitting. The caption read: “POV: when the family you nanny for doesn’t let you eat their food so you bring the most random [things]”.

She then showed the most random things she grabbed and put in her bag before heading to work.

Among the things that she unpacked from her bag were a doughnut, some fruit, a water bottle, chips, pretzels, and a can of chicken noodles. The only thing available to her there was some coffee and water, so she made herself some iced coffee, and also showed how she carries a bottle with her to refill.

Somehow, she tried to bear the brutal working conditions, but she couldn't last more than two days at work. "I'm here full days, I've been a nanny for 4 years and never had a family do this but I'm trying to make this work," she shared. But it was soon followed by another update that said, "I quit."

In another comment under her post, she clarified: "I was NOT complaining I’m sharing what I brought to eat 😂 in my 4 years as a nanny I never had a family say I couldn’t eat anything!"

People had a lot to say about the woman's working conditions, and while several of them commented in support of her, some seemingly sided with the employer, too.

"If I was rich enough for a nanny, I'd work out a weekly grocery list with a budget for food to supply them," wrote one user, while another added, "We literally order our nanny food sometimes. I don’t understand ppl that won’t take care of the person that cares for their kids."

However, some people said that it was unfair of the woman to expect her employers to feed her and also pay for her. "I'm a nanny and I bring my own food. I don't understand how eating the families food is part of the job? It's THEIR food," one person commented. "They are treating you like an employee, most jobs don't feed you. A nanny isn't cheap, so food is supposed to be added?" asked another.

What do you think? Does the woman deserve to have access to food, or is it okay they ask her to get her own, since she's being paid for her job?
