Tina Turner took proactive measures to settle all matters concerning her estate well before her passing, aiming to prevent any family disputes over her substantial wealth. The renowned singer passed away on Wednesday, May 24, at her residence in Zurich, Switzerland, following a prolonged illness. She began organizing her affairs in 2021 and finalized her will during that time, insiders told RadarOnline. “Tina knows her time is short, and she wants to make sure her ducks are in a row for her family," a source said at the time. "She’s been dealing with poor health for years and knows the end is near.”

Her estate, valued at approximately $270 million, motivated her to ensure that everything was properly arranged. In addition, she sold her music catalog to BMG, a record label, for a reported sum of $50 million. Tina faced a series of health issues, including a battle with intestinal cancer and a kidney transplant in 2017, which her devoted husband, German actor and music producer Erwin Bach, 65, selflessly supported her as her donor, per PEOPLE.

Tragically, in 2018, she also experienced the devastating loss of her oldest son, Craig Turner, who died by suicide at the age of 59. After a series of health issues and heartbreaks, Tina was in a precarious position. "She’s on dialysis again. People in her circle fear she doesn’t have long to live," an insider told Radar Online in 2021. She must have decided to divide the estate at that time. In another heartbreak, in 2022, her other son Ronnie Turner too passed away at the age of 62.

She also shared her thoughts on how she wished to be remembered by the world. When inquired about her desired legacy, Tina confidently asserted that she aspired to be remembered as the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll. “As the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.
