While some people think it's just a coincidence, some others think Scientology must have been involved in these situations.
There is an odd relationship between three times-married Tom Cruise and the number 33. The Top Gun: Maverick star, had been married to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes, and all filed for divorce when they were 33 years old. Although he has had love relationships with several actresses and famous people, such as Cher and Penelope Cruz, the internet community has taken notice of his propensity to divorce his wife when they reach 33. Mimi Rogers, Tom Cruise's first wife, was born in 1956 and is most known for introducing the Mission Impossible actor to the Church of Scientology.
On May 9, 1987, Rogers and Cruise exchanged vows. In 1990, when Rogers was 33 years old, the couple decided to divorce. According to Radar, one of the 'auditors' who brought Cruise to the Church of Scientology before their marriage was the Bosch: Legacy actress. Rogers reportedly told Playboy magazine that he was so deeply converted to the faith that he began living as a monk according to The Sunday Times. She later recanted the assertion, though.
On December 24, 1990, Cruise married Nicole Kidman, his co-star in the 1990 movie Days of Thunder, whom he had met while working on the production. Kidman was born in 1967, and the pair, who are still separated, divorced when she was 33 years old in 2001. Connor and Isabella, both adoptive children, were born in 1995 and 1992, respectively. The siblings kept up their Scientology practice even after their parents' divorce. It is also said that Kidman was unintentionally pregnant when Cruise filed for divorce from her. She later experienced a miscarriage.
Many fans believe Kidman's unwillingness to join the Church of Scientology was the cause of their divorce, while the precise circumstances remain unknown. The Eyes Wide Shut actress did, however, clarify the reasons behind the divorce. Kidman discussed the sentimental significance of her marriage to Cruise in an interview with PEOPLE.
Years later, in April 2005, Cruise and Katie Holmes began dating. They started raising Suri as parents in April 2006. On November 18, 2006, the Knight and Day actor wed Holmes, who was born in 1978, in an opulent Italian ceremony. They purportedly got married at the Church of Scientology, although they got married legally in Los Angeles. On June 29, 2012, Holmes, then aged 33, filed for divorce from Cruise. According to the news outlet PEOPLE, they agreed to a secret divorce settlement in July and signed it.
While some people think it's just a coincidence, certain enthusiasts hold conspiracy theories and think Scientology must have been involved in these situations. Even his three wives' 11-year age gap was picked up by some keen-eyed admirers.
