Tom Selleck has been a source of motivation for nearly 45 years. He is well-known for his work in TV shows such as Magnum P.I. and Blue Bloods.

He is well-renowned for being a talented actor as well as a devoted Christian. He has said that his faith in Jesus Christ is the source of all of his achievements. His path to Christ, however, has been regarded as rough.

Selleck claimed that he had a difficult upbringing and was severely beaten by his father. He finally developed into a responsible guy, though. He excelled in sports throughout high school, reported Sharesplosion.

After high school, Selleck planned to attend the University of South California, but he lacked the funds to do so. He received a basketball scholarship and attended Valley Junior College. However, he was eventually able to save up enough money to transfer to USC.

Selleck went to auditions while he was a college student. His faith was the most significant thing to him, even though he was aware that he wanted to pursue a career in Hollywood. He claimed that he makes an effort to always act honorably. Additionally, he said that he humbles himself and acknowledges that the Lord guides every move he takes.

He was quickly seen as having talent, appearing in plenty of ads, and Twentieth Century Fox offered him a contract. However, he was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. Once he returned, he landed the role that would launch him into the public eye: Magnum P.I. Selleck received numerous Emmy nods after eight seasons and won the 1985 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Dramatic Television Series.

When Selleck fell in love with English dancer Jillie Mack, he vowed not to repeat the mistakes of his first marriage, which he partially attributed to his busy work schedule. Selleck left Magnum when they had their daughter, Hannah Margaret, because he couldn't balance family and job once more. He was raised with a strong moral foundation, which he has taken into adulthood.

He serves as the national spokesperson for Character Counts!, a nonprofit that assists youth in creating a strong ethical foundation. Selleck also serves as the spokesperson for the National Fatherhood Initiative, is on the committee for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and takes an active part in the Student/Sponsor Partnership Program in New York City.

Additionally, he worked as the Skin Cancer Foundation's honorary chairman and spokesman for the Los Angeles Mission, which aids the homeless. Even though he has stepped away from the A-list celebrity spotlight, he is undoubtedly not yet ready to sit back and relax. He tends to his 30-acre avocado plantation when he isn't fulfilling his other duties or spending time with his family.

With so much more to offer, the amount of positive work the 77-year-old is engaged in may even surprise his loyal fans. Owing to his faith, he credits the Almighty with all of his achievements and hard work. He believes that his faith in the Lord has helped him overcome one of his most difficult times and also guided him through the good ones. The Friends actor works around the clock to make himself better and lead a good life. And, it seems that he is doing it with grace and love with his faith still intact.
