Many siblings enjoy a strong bond and identical twins seem to have a special connection that is rare. For many people, having an identical twin might feel like having a very profound friendship and Total Bellas stars Nikki and Brie Bella are no different.

The 36-year-old twins were pregnant around the same time and were due less than two weeks apart. From WWE titles to birthdays, they share a lot together. "Wait, twins being pregnant at the same time?" Brie told People magazine in January. "People are going to think that’s a joke. We both are shocked. People are going to think we planned it, but you can’t really plan pregnancy!" she added. But the synchronity doesn't end there.

For Nikki, it was a "total surprise." She said, "It took even me a good week to come to terms with like, 'Oh my gosh, I’m pregnant.' I’m not ready for it."

Brie, who has a 3-year-old daughter Birdie with husband and pro-wrestler Daniel Bryan, was not expecting to get pregnant again. "My husband and I were trying for seven or eight months, but then I felt in my heart it was a sign from God, like, 'You guys are good with one,' so we stopped trying," said Brie. "When we were in France meeting Artem’s family, I felt a little off. I was irritated and uncomfortable in my body. When we got home, I took a test two days before Thanksgiving, and when I saw the positive sign," she said.

And Nikki said she and her new fiancé, Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev, weren't trying to get pregnant either. Not only did both of them get pregnant around the same time, the sisters experienced the same symptoms during their pregnancy. They were both nauseous and feeling sick.

While it was expected that they will deliver almost two weeks apart, destiny had something else in mind. They gave birth to sons 22 hours apart in adjacent rooms, as per People magazine. After the deliveries, they wanted to see each other's babies as soon as possible.

"We're lucky because [our hospital rooms] were right next to each other and I was just like, 'My sister and I have been quarantined together and we're identical twins. Can she come in?' They said, 'Okay, in the middle of the night, we'll bring her, Artem and Matteo,'" recalls Brie, who delivered son Buddy Dessert on August 1. "Because I had a [cesarean] section and couldn't get out of bed, they came in the middle of the night, around midnight. It was really emotional to see them and to just see her holding a baby."

"I was like, 'What?!' Like, 'That's my sister,'" Brie shared. "We just sat on the bed and she held Buddy and I held Matteo and we were just chatting," she added.

Nikki, who is a first-time mom, welcomed her son on July 31. "It was so special," added Nikki about the moment she met her nephew. "It was so cute because seeing Buddy I immediately was like, 'Oh my gosh, that Bryan's mini.' "

"But he had these dimples and it brought me back to when I saw Birdie," Nikki continued. "It was weird, though, for me to see my sister with a son, because I'm just so used to Bird. It was almost like reliving our labor again. Like, 'Whoa, look at this baby.'"

Nikki was originally supposed to go into labor on August 6, but she was induced early as her doctors worried about her high blood pressure. Her water had broken in the doctor's office one week before the birth took place. "Artem and I were so not prepared," she admitted. "We barely had bags packed. I labored for 22 hours, and I pushed for two hours while wearing a mask because of COVID-19," she added.

"It was 118 degrees in Phoenix and our room wouldn't get colder than 76 degrees, so I was burning hot the whole time," Nikki continued. "I had two more rounds of pushing [to go] until my doctor said, 'You're going to have to have a c-section.' I said, 'No, he's coming out vaginally.' " She and her fiance sang their way through the birth. "I have never pushed so hard in my life. I almost tore off the handlebars!"

Both sisters and their sons are healthy and they are feeling "overpowering" love "that even though you're so tired, that bliss just takes over."
