"Merry Christmas, everyone! 🎄 As we end another year, I cannot help but feel grateful for the love and support of my family and loved ones. ✨ There's nothing quite like spending time with the people who matter most, and I hope you all can do the same this holiday season," the 62-year-old wrote. "Let's take a moment to appreciate the special moments we share with our loved ones and the joy and warmth they bring to our lives," she continued. "Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year! Love, Valerie."

This is the actress's first Christmas since her divorce from Tom Vitale. The pair were married for 10 years. On May 12, Bertinelli formally announced her and Tom Vitale's separation alleging "irreconcilable differences" as the cause. Bertinelli, 62, posted a video from an airport terminal on Twitter to announce the news as she prepared to take a flight to visit her son 33-year-old son Wolfgang Van Halen—she revealed, "My lawyer just called. The papers are all signed. They're about to be filed." Added Bertinelli, "On 11/22/22, I am officially f------ divorced. Happily divorced. Finally. It's finally over."

According to TODAY, the actress got emotional when asked if she ever wanted to look for love again  and replied, "Oh, God no." "Because of the challenges that I'm going through right now, because divorce sucks. I can't imagine ever trusting anyone again to let into my life. So I have some trust issues that I'm sure I'm going to have to get past," Bertinelli shared. “I am gonna be more than happy to be happily divorced and spend the rest of my life alone,” she added. "I'll be happy that way. Well, with my six cats and my dog and my son, and hopefully one day grandchildren.", Bertinelli has endured several heartbreaks in her life including the loss of her first husband, legendary rock guitarist Eddie Van Halen.  She divorced the icon in 2007 and he died from cancer at 65 in 2020.
