While the special days bring us together and remind us to be grateful for the things we have they can also be a reminder about the loss of a loved one. For those who experienced a tragedy recently, the loss and grief can be quite stark on these days when we are meant to celebrate. But, as we move on, we realize that life must be celebrated even in the aftermath of violent and unexpected loss.

Vanessa Bryant, the widow of NBA legend Kobe Bryant who also lost her daughter Gianna in the same plane crash that took her husband in January, probably wanted her other daughters to have a good time this Easter. The festival is one of joy and it only makes sense to keep hope alive in our hearts during this time. Vanessa shared multiples images of her children having a good time during this lockdown.

She posted a sweet video on April 11 to Instagram as her three-year-old daughter Bianka tried to break a blue egg ahead of Easter Sunday. This will be the first Easter Sunday since the family lost Kobe and 13-year-old daughter Gianna in January. "Easter Treats!" Vanessa, 37, captioned the clip, which also featured nine-month-old daughter Capri. "Thank you @jeffleatham," she captioned it, according to NYPost. In the video, Bianka can be seen trying hard to break open the egg with a wooden hammer but her tiny arms aren't able to get through. Then, her mother steps in and breaks open the egg with more force. Little Capri can be seen smiling nearby. The video has been seen more than eight million times already.

Many of her followers commented on the video wishing the family well and sending them love. "Sending love to you V and those beautiful babies," said basketball player Lisa Leslie. Another female basketball player, Candace Parker, said, "Omg they are SOOOOO cute 'chocolateeeeee'." Model Leyla Milani-Khoshbin said, "Adorable! Love their smiles." Actress Gabrielle Union-Wade shared a bunch of hearts on the video.

The mom shared another photo of her children. There were two images side-by-side and in one her oldest daughter Natalia is holding Capri and in the other Vanessa holds Bianka closely. The family seems to be celebrating spring dressed in colorful attire and posing at home.

Kobe died on January 26 in a California helicopter crash along with his daughter, Gianna, and their family was devastated. Seven others perished in the crash. Kobe, a father-of-four, and only 41 at the time of his death, was loved deeply by his family, who feel his loss keenly. In March, Vanessa and her daughters Natalia, Bianka, and Capri, posed with a mural of their beloved patriarch in Los Angeles.

In a recent post, Vanessa's heartbreak became more apparent when she shared the message, "My husband worked his ass off for 20 years. Gave it his all. All he wanted was to spend time with our girls and me to make up for lost time. He wanted to be there for every single milestone and special moment in our girls lives. He only got to enjoy 3 years and 9 months of retirement. We had 2 more daughters, he won an Oscar, he opened Granity studios, he became a 5x best selling author and coached Gianna’s basketball team in that time. She worked hard and gave her all 7 days a week just like her daddy. I wish I could go back to that morning, every day. I wish they had a normal local game on 1/26. Life truly isn’t fair. This is just senseless."

At Kobe and Gianna's memorial, Vanessa had a message for her late husband, "Babe, you take care of our Gigi...May you both rest in peace and have fun in Heaven until we meet again one day." Even in death, he will continue to be a caring dad like he was in real life. He was the kind of fun dad who became like a child with his children.

"Missing you both so much #GigiBryant and @kobebryant … Even missing your ‘earthquakes’ - (leg shakes)," Vanessa captioned one video she shared on Instagram to show the world how loving a father he was.
