This dog clearly knows what he wants and he has proven he will do anything and everything to get it.
Dogs are far more intelligent that we often give them credit for. Sure, we see them running around chasing their tails, walking into glass doors, sleeping with their tongue sticking out. But these four-legged creatures are far quicker than we would expect. And this dog is one that proves that.
Seeing an injured or disabled dog is enough to get many people to try and help them out, either by feeding them or simply petting them. After all, every dog deserves love. Including this one that cleverly found a way to trick people into giving him pets and food.
Roaming around on the streets of Bangkok, Thailand is a street dog that's quite friendly with the locals, nicknamed Gae. This smart dog was caught on camera, faking a broken leg in order to score free food from tourists, reported NY Post. The video shows the furry con artist dragging his left hind leg across the pavement for a few seconds before jumping up and trotting around with his tail wagging.
The clever canine's scam worked so well that one man on a motorbike was taken in. He stopped to check on the "disabled" pooch but bursts out laughing when he finds out just what he was up to. “This old dog has lived [at] my workplace for a few years,” local resident Thaweeporn Chongplapolkul said, reported the Daily Mail. “He always does this trick to deceive people.”
“I feed him rice but he still has this habit. He's very smart. I think he does it to get people to feed him,” Chongplapolkul said. She witnessed the man on the motorbike who got down to greet the scamp and said, “But then he jumps up and walks away. It's too funny. We call him Gae," reported News 18.
She explained that along with her, there are quite a few other locals that take care of him.“I feed him rice but he still has this habit. He's very smart. I think he does it to get people to feed him,” Chongplapolkul said.
She assured viewers that there is nothing actually wrong with the deceptive dog. He's as healthy as he can be. “We’ve checked both of his legs — they are both fine,” says Chongplapolkul. “If Gae had any kind of injury, I would take him to the vets immediately.” Being a dog lover, according to Metro UK, Chongplapolkul, who rescues street dogs and has several pets of her own, said she keeps an eye on Gae’s health.
