A woman who was experiencing abdominal pain went to the gynecologist for an ultrasound, because despite taking home pregnancy tests, her results kept coming negative. She needed an answer to what was causing the pain, but the discovery was way more shocking than a baby.
According to Independent, the woman, who goes by @sandwitchbread on TikTok, shared her medical mystery in a video that now has millions of views.
She claimed to have been experiencing pains and abnormal bleeding since giving birth to her son two years ago, which is why she eventually decided to go to the gynecologist out of fear that she was pregnant again.
“So she [the doctor] tells me I have to have an ultrasound, and I’m like, ‘F – – k, I hope it’s not a baby, because I do not want a kid right now,’ ” she told her TikTok followers in the video. “But it’s not a baby. It’s actually something WAY worse than a baby!”

“When my doctor comes in the room to tell me the results of the ultrasound,” the TikToker said, “She looks me in the eyes and tells me that I have a seven centimeter chicken egg-sized cyst called a dermoid cyst.”
Apparently, she also has another smaller one, the size of a pea, growing inside, too.
“For those of you who don’t know what a dermoid cyst is, it’s a cyst that grows hair and teeth and comes from particles of fetal tissue being separated during the development of a fetus,” she explained. “So, for about two years now, I’ve had particles of my son that I gave birth to growing in my uterus. Teeth and hair!”
While dermoid cysts aren't harmful, it requires surgery to remove them. According to the National Cancer Institute, these cysts are present at birth but may not be found until later in life.
She issued a “viewer discretion” to anyone watching the TikTok video, before proceeding to show pictures of how the cyst would look. But, despite issuing a warning about the image, her followers were not ready for it!

“You advised discretion for the photo and I THOUGHT I understood,” said one user. “But let me tell you I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT PHOTO.”
“Everyday this app provides me with another reason to remove my uterus,” said another. “I have never wanted to have a child less than today,” added a third. “I will never be able to forget this. I should have looked away,” one queasy viewer wrote.
The woman went on to reveal that she is now going to have both of the dermoid cysts cut out, and joked: “I can’t wait for surgery. I’m gonna keep them in a wet specimen jar."
