A young child has lost his mother at the hands of intimate partner violence. A Michigan mother wanted to end her relationship with her boyfriend but was shot dead by him when she brought it up. The boyfriend then turned the gun on himself. Taylor Police Chief John Blair described the finding of Amber Bradshaw, 23, and Nate Jackson, 21, on Monday night as "a terrible scene" in an on-camera interview, per PEOPLE.
Shawna Killian, Bradshaw's sister, told the publication that she had gone to Jackson's house that night to end their year-long relationship.
Blair states that after shooting Bradshaw, Jackson called his father and confessed what he had done. "He said he had harmed his girlfriend and there was no reason for him to be alive. And then they heard it was believed to be a gunshot," Blair said. Jackson's father then phoned the police, who arrived at Jackson's house and made the gruesome discovery. "It was a terrible scene inside. Unfortunately, there were two deceased on the floor directly inside the door and that began our investigation," Blair said.
A GoFundMe established for the victim's family and surviving son describes the mom as a "beautiful soul," adding that she was "taken too soon, a true tragedy, she will be missed greatly." The GoFundMe aims to garner "prayers, condolences, and donations" for the family as they deal with this heartbreaking loss.
Many people are leaving the family condolences and love. Cassandra Love, a friend of the family, commented under the fundraiser, "I loved her like a little sister, she always told me I was another big sister to her, she was such a beautiful soul and deserves a proper funeral. Love you forever my nirvana fan." Another friend of the family, Samantha Eccleton shared, "Amber was such a sweet girl to work with. She was always kind to me. Gone too soon."
My girlfriend’s oldest, closest friend Amber was murdered last night by her intimate partner. Her sister organized this GFM for the memorial/cremation and Amber’s surviving son Conrad. #DomesticAbuse #intimatepartnerviolence #GunViolence https://t.co/VQ43edeocT

A friend of Amber's, Debrah Miszak, shared a beautiful anecdote about the young mom, writing, "Amber was the first person to talk to me when I moved to Wyandotte for sixth grade. As a shy kid who had a lot of trouble coming out of her shell, I always appreciated Amber's friendliness and kindness." Debbie also shared the fundraiser on Twitter, adding, "An old friend was murdered this week by her boyfriend because she tried to break up with him. I have no clue how to process this, but a fund has been set up to cover funeral expenses and care for her young son."
A donator, Marvin Van Loon, commented, "We pray that God grants you all comfort in your time of sorrow. May her light surround you now and forevermore."
