“Zachary had emergency shunt revision this morning. It’s been a scary 72 hours but he is doing well and recovering!” Tori Roloff shared.
Zach Roloff, a star of Little People, Big World, recently underwent an "emergency" brain surgery. Tori Roloff, his wife and co-star on Little People, Big World, announced the development on Thursday, February 9 on Instagram. Tori shared a slideshow that featured two images of her husband recuperating in his hospital bed. Zach, who had several cables affixed to his chest and a bandage covering his head, smiled and flashed a thumbs-up in a photograph, per TODAY.
“Not exactly how we saw our week going,” Tori wrote in the caption, “Zachary had emergency shunt revision this morning. It’s been a scary 72 hours but he is doing well and recovering!!” She continued, “Thank you so much to everyone for the prayers that you have covered us in. We feel them!”
The reality TV personality then expressed her gratitude to their friends and family for their love and support, as well as the team of neurosurgeons who have been attending to her spouse. She also thanked her mother-in-law, Amy Roloff, a fellow TLC celebrity, saying, “Also shout out to @amyjroloff for holding down the fort and playing hide n seek for who knows how many hours.” Tori then prayed for Zach's full recovery, hoping that the procedure “will be our answered prayers to relieving his migraines!”
The star then concluded the emotional Instagram post, appreciating her husband's strength, “You’re a freaking bad a**, Zach. You just had brain surgery… and handled it like a rockstar. I’m so proud of you.”
Many family members left encouraging remarks in the comments. Amy Roloff congratulated her daughter-in-law. “You’re a trooper as well Tori,” she wrote. “I’m glad I could be here so you could be there with him.” Matt Roloff, Zach's father, spoke of his son's chronic medical problems. “I’m so happy, hopeful, and prayerful that this fixes those darn migraines once and for all! Amen,” he commented.
On February 8, Matt Roloff posted on social media for the first time that his son required a “shunt revision.” Along with an Instagram photo of Zach playing with his children, Matt wrote, “We are all praying for Zach as he undergoes an important shunt revision. He’s in good hands with Tori advocating tooth and nail for his best interest… all prayers up please for Zach's successful recovery.”
Tori also updated her followers on Wednesday night with an Instagram Story, per PEOPLE, stating that she "hesitated" sharing the news but is sharing it because she believes "strongly in prayer and could use some tomorrow." She wrote, "They say it's routine surgery but it's far from my routine and Zach and I are nervous. It feels big to us but we trust his doctors and their ability and knowledge! Any prayers are greatly appreciated!"
